$4.3 million settlement in trucker misclassification case

Partners Brian Kabateck and Christoper Noyes reached a $4.3 million settlement in a class action lawsuit against Pac Anchor Transportation, Inc., a trucking and logistics company operating in Los Angeles County, to resolve a trucker misclassification case. On June 14, 2017, Plaintiffs Carlos Mosquera and Juan Rodriguez filed a class action lawsuit against their former employer, Pac Anchor Transportation, Inc., alleging that the company misclassified truck drivers, and were denied employee benefits for the work they were performing, including giving proper wages, overtime pay, breaks, and more. The plaintiffs also alleged that the trucking company failed to timely pay all wages owed upon separation, failed to reimburse all business expenses, and engaged in unlawful, unfair, and deceptive business practices.
