Schultz, a former Burbank mayor and career prosecutor, describes constituents too afraid to leave their homes, seek medical care, or report crimes like domestic violence because of ICE activity in their communities — and breaks down the real bills his committee is advancing in response, including ID requirements for masked law enforcement (SB 805 and SB 627), measures keeping ICE off school campuses without judicial warrants, and parental notification requirements.
The conversation also tackles the broader political stakes, with Brian drawing parallels to Proposition 187 and Schultz warning that Democrats must deliver on housing, healthcare, and cost of living to maintain voter trust.
