LOS ANGELES, CA (June 24, 2024)— Kabateck LLP is proud to announce the promotion of Shant Karnikian to the position of Managing Partner. Shant, who began his career as a law clerk at Kabateck LLP, has a proven track record of dedication, results, and leadership throughout his tenure with the firm.
Having worked his way up the ranks, Shant Karnikian has proven himself a formidable legal force. His expertise in insurance bad faith, disaster litigation, and preparing cases for trial has made him the go-to attorney within the firm. Shant has served trial counsel alongside the firm’s lead trial attorney, Brian Kabateck, on six jury trials, all resulting in favorable verdicts for their clients. As an active member of the legal community, Karnikian is on the Board of Governors of Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, Consumer Attorneys of California, and the Executive Committee of Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Litigation Section.
Karnikian’s elevation to Managing Partner marks a new chapter for Kabateck LLP, reaffirming the firm’s commitment to excellence, integrity, and justice for its clients.
“As the new Managing Partner, I’m incredibly excited to steer Kabateck LLP towards even greater heights, championing our commitment to excellence, integrity, and dedication to our clients,” said Karnikian.
Brian Kabateck, the firm’s Founding Partner, is passing Shant the management torch to allow him to focus on what he loves most: tackling complex and significant high-value cases that require his undivided attention. He also continues to serve as Loyola Law School’s Chairman of the Board and as a trustee of Loyola Marymount University (LMU).
“I have full confidence in Shant’s abilities in the day-to-day management of the firm and I’m eager to see him lead KBK to new successes. Together, we’re ready to dive deep into the complexities of the cases we’re handling, working to keep obtaining incredible results,” said Kabateck.
Under the leadership of Kabateck and Karnikian, the Kabateck LLP team remains steadfast in its mission to represent victims of negligence and wrongful conduct. In addition to high-stakes litigation in catastrophic personal injury, sexual abuse, and consumer protection cases, Kabateck LLP continues to bolster its reputation of seeking compensation for victims of property damage—whether through insurance bad faith lawsuits against unscrupulous insurers or tort claims against government entities. Most recently, their clients include hundreds of families and small businesses in flood-affected communities across California’s Central Valley and Monterey Bay Area. The firm has filed lawsuits on behalf of over 1,200 people against various public entities responsible for failed flood control measures and maintenance, taking crucial steps toward achieving justice and compensation for the substantial damages suffered by these communities.
The firm also represents hundreds of Maui wildfire victims, handling lawsuits for those who lost loved ones and their homes in the August 8th, 2023 Lahaina fire.
