KBK’s Brian Kabateck spoke to the Northern California Record in regards to the recent decision to reduce the amount of a $2 million verdict against Bayer AG.

Last month, a judge on the Alameda County Superior Court reduced the amount of punitive damages in a $2 billion verdict against Bayer AG.

The company asked the court to reverse the verdict in June after the jury found in favor of the plaintiffs’ allegations that Roundup weed killer caused their cancer. Judge Winifred Smith reduced the award to plaintiffs Alva and Alberta Pilliod to $86.7 million in late July.

Attorney Brian Kabateck of Kabateck LLP in Los Angeles initially predicted that it would be very difficult for the plaintiffs to keep the entire $2 billion.  To read the full article, click here.
