KBK Attorneys Lead Seminars at Nation’s Largest Trial Lawyer Convention

(Las Vegas, NV)— Two high profile attorneys from the Los Angeles law firm Kabateck LLP are among the short list of lawyers leading MCLE seminars at the annual Attorneys Association of Los Angles (CAALA) in Las Vegas.

Senior and Managing Partner Brian Kabateck and Senior Trial Lawyer and 2015 CAALA President, Joseph Barrett are both instructing courses on hot topics that fall within their expertise.

Mr. Kabateck will offer insights on Establishing and Arguing Bad Faith Damages on Sunday Sept. 6 from 9am to 12:15 pm. When a policyholder sues his or her insurance company California law allows consumers to recover damages caused by their insurance company’s unreasonable handling of their claim. However, the damages are limited and consumers must be able to establish that the insurer acted in bad faith to be able to recover more than what their policy allows.

Mr. Barrett will provide guidance on Using Anchors and Themes in Direct and Cross Examination on Saturday Sept 5 from 9am to 12:15pm. He will discuss how to effectively communicate the essential themes and ideas to anchor with your jury from voir dire through closing arguments and with trial examination.

KBK is a proud sponsor of the consumer/trial lawyer association event and is hosting the annual CAALA Membership Lunch on Friday Sept 4 from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. Los Angeles Superior Court Presiding Judge Carolyn Kuhl and Assistant Presiding Judge Daniel Buckley will give a State of the Court Address.

Thousands of trial lawyers from across the state will converge at the Wynn Las Vegas for the annual convention over the Labor Day Weekend. Participants can earn 20 hours of MCLE credit including 4 hours of Legal Ethics, 1 hour of Elimination of Bias and one hour of Competence Issues.
