July 18, 2014 – Kabateck LLP was mentioned in a July 18, 2014 Daily Journal article about one of the firm’s cases, against a hospital owner and administrator and his network of doctors and clinics. The firm is co-counsel in the civil suit, which alleges the Michael Drobot was part of a vast conspiracy to counterfeit spinal implants and inflate the cost of the medical hardware.
The suit was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on behalf of former spinal surgery patient Mary Cavalieri and is one in a number of cases against Drobot. According to the article, the State Compensation Insurance Fund has filed a civil RICO claim against Drobot and his alleged co-conspirators and federal prosecutors indicted Drobot. Kabateck LLP and its co-counsel also brought civil suit against Drobot in June on behalf of Arthur Golia, another spinal surgery patient.
