Smith & Nephew has voluntarily recalled the cementless versions of its Oxinium Genesis II and Profix II knee implant replacements because they do not bond properly.

Many patients who received the Oxinium Genesis II and Profix II required revision surgery. Those patients are also at a higher risk of re-infection, and further joint and muscular damage.
